수록곡: 로시니-도둑까치 서곡, 레스피기-모음곡‘새’, 생상-동물의 사육제, 시벨리우스-투오넬라의 백조
‘로시니’의 서곡 가운데 가장 오랫동안 인기를 누리고 있는 작품, <도둑까치 서곡>이 앨범의 서두를 장식하고 있다. 이어지는 ‘레스피기’의 <새>는 17~18세기에 새를 주제로 한 여러 나라 작곡가들의 클라브생 작품들 중에서 5곡을 골라 관현악화 한 작품이다. 교묘한 관현악법을 통해 원곡의 묘사성을 더 사실적이고 색채적으로 장식한 이 작품은 <소 관현악을 위한 모음곡>이란 부제가 붙여져 있다. 주로 목관에 의해 새의 울음소리를 나타낸 고전적인 전아함이 깃든 작품이다. 그 외에도 ‘생상’의 <동물의 사육제>, ‘시벨리우스’의 <투오넬라의 백조>와 같은 매우 익숙하고 친근한 곡들이 수록되어 있는데, <동물의 사육제>에서 들려지는 ‘이작 펄먼’의 나레이션이 이 앨범의 백미라 할 수 있다. |
