Review
Patti Page was perfectly comfortable with country music and could even yodel, although she doesn't do it on Country & Western Golden Hits. This 1961 album offers some of the crossover country music you would expect a pop vocalist to tackle, like "Dark Moon," but Page also does "You All Come," which is as country as it gets. "Mom and Dad's Waltz" was a minor hit on the pop and country charts for Page, and the album's track list is full of classics like "I Walk the Line," "Walking the Floor Over You," and "Crazy Arms." This isn't your typical attempt to turn country material into lushly orchestrated mood music -- Country & Western Golden Hits is a bona fide country-pop album, and a good one at that.

American singer of traditional pop music, born November 8, 1927 in Muskogee, OK, United States, died 1 January 2013 in Encinitas, California, USA.
1927년 11월 8일 미국 오클라호마주에서 본명 Clara Ann Fowler로 태어나 1940년대 부터 활동을 시작한 그녀는 50년에 발표한 'With My Eyes Wide Open I'm Dreaming'이 첫플래티넘 앨범이 되며 유명세를 타기 시작하였으며 1951년 발표한 테네씨 월츠가 무려 30주간이나 빌보드챠트 1위를 고수하며 명실공히 최고의 가수로 부상하였다.
실로 금세기 가장 많이 활약하고 애청되는 여가수를 꼽으라면 많은 이들이 그녀를 꼽을 정도로 금세기 가수 여왕이라 할수 있다.
