헨델 : 이탈리아 세속 칸타타 '델리리오 아모로소'
여기에 있는 Handel의 두개의 Italian Cantatas는 Handel이 Rome에 있었던 1707년 (22세때)에 작곡된 곡들이다. Handel의 cantata가 얼마나 아름다운지 잘 보여주는 곡들이며 중간에 있는 Aci Galatea, e Polifemo의 aria는 가장 긴 aria 중에 하나이다.
이 앨범은 프랑스 출신의 soprano인 Natalie Dessay의 현란하고 감성적인 vocal을 잘 보여주는 앨범으로 Emmanuelle Haim과 Le Concert d'astree의 연주 또한 찬란하고 정갈하다. period instrument의 장점을 최대한 살려서 극적이고 감칠맛나는 연주를 들려준다. Natalie Dessay는 성대의 결절을 두번이나 수술해야했으면서도 이를 이겨낸 의지의 soprano로 현란한 technique을 보여주고 있으며 그녀의 목소리는 높고 가벼우며 맑고 정갈하다. 그러나 차갑지 않고 따스한 느낌을 준다. 이제까지 그녀는 Mozart와 19세기 bel canto 음악에서 인정을 받았지만 Handel의 cantata와도 완벽하게 어울린다. 특히나 가운데 있는 Qui, Laugel de pianta의 aria는 어지럽고 숨이 막힐 정도로 기교적으로나 감성적으로도 뛰어나다.
이 음반에서 또 하나의 즐거움은 Patrick Beaugiraud의 oboe 연주다. 정갈하고 순결한 소리를 들려주며 Delirio amoroso의 격을 한층 높여준다.
