Izzy는 1975년 영국 잉글랜드와 웨일즈 접경지대인 슈롭셔 지방에서 태어났다.
4살때 리코오더를 잡으며 음악을 시작한 그녀는 이후 5년 동안 리코오더 계열 의 악기들을 모두 연주 할 수 있었으며, 피아노와 클라리넷, 플루트 연주도 꾸준히 해나간다.
9살이 되던 해 그녀는 자신의 음악 활동에 있어서 결정적인 전환점을 맞이한다. 학교 합창단 지휘자는 그녀가 가진 보컬로서의 재능을 지적해 주었고 그녀는 싱어의 신분으로 Arts Educational School 에 입학해 음악, 드라마, 춤을 배우게 된다.
10대 중반 학교 합창단에서 중요한 솔로 부분을 자신이 소화해내는 수준에 까지 올라섰다. 그녀는 합창단 활동을 하면서 런던의 'The Royal Albert Hall' 과 'The Festival Hall' 그리고 이탈리아의 'St. Francis Basilica', 'Florence Cathedral' 등에서 공연을 하는 등 어린 시절부터 두각을 나타냈다.
93년 18살의 나이에 Guildhall Music School 에서 개최한 Junior Guldhall Singing Prize 상을 수상한 바 있는 그녀는 독특한 음색과 파워있는 보이스를 인정 받으면서 영국의 줄리아드로 거론 되어지는 Guildhall Music School 에 들어가 음악과 드라마를 공부하게 된다.
