Nulla in mundo pax sincera RV 630 (고난이 없이 세상에 참 평화없어라)
안토니오 비발디(Antonio Vivaldi)가 작곡한 모테트 글로리아(Gloria) 중 <세상엔 진실한 평화 없어라(Nulla in mundo pax sincera)>는 비발디 세속 칸타타의 대표작으로 꼽히는데, 곡의 평온한 분위기 때문에 많은 사랑을 받고 있는 곡이다. 일요일 아침과 같은 느낌을 주는 곡이다. 대지의 모든 사물을 깨우는 듯 한 바이올린의 선율, 하늘에 떠다니는 구름을 연상시키는 아름다운 소프라노 성부가 자아내는 평온함에 감동 받지 않을 사람은 없을 것이다.
영화 '샤인'OST에 삽입되어 더욱 유명해 졌는데, 비발디의 이 곡은 기막힌 선곡이다. '아픔이 없다면, 세상엔 참 평화 없어라...'라는 가사가 말해 주듯이, 데이빗 헬프갓의 삶을 감동적으로 표현하고 아픔이 씻어지는 느낌까지 받게 하였다. |

Deborah York, Soprano

Deborah York was born in Sheffi eld and graduated with a fi rst class honours degree in music from Manchester University. Deborah has performed in opera houses throughout the world including Covent Garden, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Semperoper Dresden, Amsterdam, Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin and the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich.
She created the role of Mirror in Harrison Birtwistle’s »The Second Mrs Kong« for Glyndebourne Opera. She has performed with most of europe’s leading baroque ensembles and with such distinguished orchestras as the London Symphony, Royal Concertgebouw, Dresdner Philharmonic and Birmingham Symphony. |
Deborah was awarded a Grammy for her recording of Stravinsky’s »The Rake’s Progress« in the role of Anne Truelove, recorded for Deutsche Grammophone with the London Symphony Orchestra and John Eliot Gardiner.
Her numerous recordings include Bach with Philippe Herreweghe, Ton Koopman and Paul MacCreesh and Handel and Vivaldi with Rinaldo Alessandrini. Deborah has given solo chamber recitals with ensembles such as Freiburger Baroque Orchestra, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Stagione Frankfurt and her own group the Amrita Ensemble.
She recently toured a solo programme of Italian baroque music with Lautten Compagney entitled »Dolce mio ben«, broadcast for NDR and plans to record a solo disc of Purcell songs with them for Edel Classics. |
